Meet Pastor Salad Vang

Pastor Salad vang.

I was born in Long Cheng, Laos. At the age of three, my father passed away. In 1980, we came to the United States from a refugee camp in Thailand.  I have five brothers and one sister.  My family studied hard to accomplish the American dream and became lawyers and doctors.  I received my B.Sc. degree in 1995.  I continued my studies and received my Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001, and Doctor of Medicine degree in 2008 respectively. I am married to my lovely wife, Tsee, and we have six children. 

My ancestors from China believe in the spiritual world called shamanism. But I never paid attention to any of it. I did not believe in anything, the devil nor God.  My wife has been a believer in Christ for a long time. Without knowing it, my wife had been praying and fasting for me to come to Christ.  Then, in April of 2013, our oldest daughter started seeing dark shadows coming to attack her.  A few days afterward, she had severe seizures, went into a coma, and from it, she almost didn’t make it. She was hospitalized for a month.  She lost her memory and motor strength on the right side of her body.  The doctors couldn’t do any more to help her. It was a year after that incidence, that the LORD finally answered my wife’s prayer. The day when I finally came to Christ, my wife and I were holding hands, praying in our bedroom. Then suddenly, the whole room was filled with so much love, peace, and warmth. There was a big, bright, holy light that filled the room, from it I frizzed, and my tongue tasted as if I had honey in my mouth.  Then the LORD showed a vision of Jesus Christ on the cross with a thorn crown on His head and blood was all over Him, and it blew me away! I was on my knees in tears; it pricked my heart to finally see how much He loves me even before I knew Him.  Christ Jesus died an excruciating death on the cross for us all. He died for all the sins in the world—the past, present, and future sins.  Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

Then a few days later, my wife and I had the same dream. The LORD revealed to us in our dreams, the individuals that had been doing witchcraft on my family, through which our daughter became sick. Right away, after the dream, we were attacked by Satan and saw hundreds of demons that scared me to my very core. I was not able to sleep or eat for days and couldn’t work for a month. But from knowing the Truth in Christ Jesus and how evil people, Satan, and his demons work around the clock to destroy us, has brought me even closer to the LORD through His active, living Word: “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4).  

Two weeks after accepting Jesus Christ into my life, my wife and I prayed for God to heal our daughter. So, we laid our hands on her, and from there, we saw two tall angels, pure white (holy), whiter than snow.  Each was holding a golden sword, gold not of this earth. Suddenly, two dark, small demonic spirits came out of our daughter and left. Immediately this occurred, she was cured.                “By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy Holy child Jesus” (Acts 4:30). 

Many people may believe that there are many gods and many ways to Heaven, but there is only one true living God and one Son—Christ Jesus, who is God in the flesh. The truth is, a lot of people in the world will miss the mark, just like I once lived not knowing the truth.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 states, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”

The world is a beautiful creation of the true living God, but in it, Satan and his fallen angels also live.  That’s what many non-believers don’t understand, and they question why a loving God can allow such bad things to happen. It’s because of the evil that lives here without our knowledge of it, but it is there as Satan starts strife, confusion, pride, greed, fear, pain, and all the evilness that happens in this world, and the fact that we are all born with a sinful nature.  We were born as sinners, and that’s the reason children throw tantrums due to the sinful nature that is oozing out of them.  There are only two types of people in this world: the saved and the unsaved. There is no middle area.  If we believe that evil and Satan exists in this world, how can we not believe in God? How can we look around and see all the beauty in it and not realize there is a Creator? How can we view a small child and not see God? 

I turned from being a skeptical evolutionary doctor to a believer in Christ Jesus.  My life has been a transformation turned 360 degrees, and I now serve Him and dedicate my whole life to the LORD, Jesus Christ. "Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves Me." (John 12:26).

I thank Christ Jesus my LORD, who has given me strength to do His work. Even though I used to be an atheist, He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve Him. He filled me with the faith and love that come from Christ Jesus.
